If water doesn’t bead then you should reseal the stone surface. Sealers can be purchased at most home centers. Sealer comes in water or oil based variants and can have a gloss or natural finish. Do not sit or stand on the countertop. Stone is tough & durable but will crack when too much weight is in any one spot.

Do not cut directly on the surface, use a cutting board.
Do not apply acetone or paint thinner.
Do clean spills immediately by blotting

Do thoroughly rinse and dry the surface after washing. Too much cleaner or soap may leave a film and cause streaks.
